In town for work training and I will be back multiple times this week. Went with the Aviators Salad (Caesar) and a bowl of some of the best gumbo I've ever had! Will definitely be back for the Andoullie Crusted Red Fish and the Shirmp & Grits. Fantastic!
Always love this place! The food is first rate, the service is prompt and friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed and elegant. I've had several of their dishes and they always exceed expectations. We get the key lime pie before dinner because they often sell out and you don't want to miss out on it!
Went for lunch and had the salad with blackened salmon so Yummy! 8/20/23 we did Brunch! Amazing, they take pride in everything they serve! We went 9/23 and dinner was fantastic Charlie and Mike are amazing bar tenders We both had the fillets and they were cooked too perfection! I can't say enough about the coping mechanism and the Cadillac margarita that my husband loves! So exciting to see a local place focused on customer service and high quality food! 11-29-23 Always the best place for dinner and drinks! I keep coming back!! 6/28/24 I normally love everything about Mud Bugs, and I am not changing my stars. However this is the second time we have come and sit at the bar when they have someone new. While I am all for training your customers should not be the test. I sent my drink back to the regular bar tender and it was amazing! (Coping Mechanism) When I order a coping mechanism I expect it to taste the same each time. It's uncomfortable to send something back when you know someone is new. I love mud bugs but this shouldn't happen. When they reach the customer they need to be 100%. 12/5/24 still amazing love the place! Service is outstanding!
I have tried to give an all 5 STAR review, but everytime I hit POST, it switches to all zeros for food, service and atmosphere. Not sure why. Restaurant provides an intimate atmosphere and is located at the Buda Mill & Grain Co. The selection is good, and the chef seems to take great pride in his/her menu and ingredients. The swordfish pontchartrain defeats the one at Trulucks in Austin. The care and attention by the waiter was exceptionally.
David is amazing. He'll make you want to order the whole menu The food is incredible! Brussel sprouts were delicious and the shrimp and grits are a must! Everything we had was very tasty! We'll be back next time we're in town!
Had the best time at Mud Bugs! The oyster fried pasta and calamari were absolutely delicious. The staff was so friendly and you can tell they’re like family—such a great vibe all around. Highly recommend if you’re in Buda!
The service we received by the New Yorker gentlemen was phenomenal. His knowledge about the food and the passion explaining it was such a wonderful experience for us. We will recommend this place to our friends and will definitely recommend it to our office also. The food was exceptional, and the chef made us remember the ! Best seasond shrimp ever!
This place is absolutely amazing!!! My husband loves roast beef po'boy but not every place makes the roast beef one. Mud bugs makes one of the best he has had even after going to NOLA to get some 'real' po'boy lol. I had salmon and filthy rice, the salmon was perfect (for me) and the rice was a little spicy but I add a little salmon to each bite and it worked pretty good. Hurricane was made with fresh pressed OJ!! So very very delicious . The outside patio was nicely spaced and just the whole atmosphere was amazing. Sarah was our server very attentive without being pushy. Just made us so relaxed.
